Wire Contour Figure Project
This project focuses on:
- Developing hand/eye coordination and strong observational skills
- Transferring a drawn concept to a different medium (pencil drawing to a wire sculpture
- Representing correct figure proportions and gesture
- Understading 3 dimensional forms in space
- Developing craftsmanship of wrapped wire sculpture
Assignment: Draw a figure using the blind contour and modified contour technique. Translate the final contour into a wire sculpture. Pay particular attention to the figure proportions and overall gesture. Create a three-dimensional form that is made with densely wrapped wire and extendsin all directions.
